Founded by Ann Supple Massey in 2007, who brought 19 years of experience as a buyer and Divisional Merchandise Manager in department stores, Rouge quickly established itself as a leading cosmetics store on the North Shore. Massey meticulously vetted every product, ensuring a curated selection of both established favorites and emerging brands. Her dedication to personalized service and a "friendly, neighborhood retail store" atmosphere laid the groundwork for Rouge's success.
In September 2014, the ownership of Rouge Cosmetics transitioned to Alejandra Kough, a visionary in the beauty industry with over 25 years of experience in hair and makeup artistry as well as beauty retail. Originally from Venezuela, Kough owned a beauty shop and was a sought-after makeup artist before moving to the U.S. Her expertise from working with brands like Estee Lauder, Clarins, Bluemercury, and La Mer, combined with her passion for empowering others through beauty, has propelled Rouge to new heights. Under Kough's leadership, Rouge has expanded its offerings to include a Brow Bar, a full menu of aesthetic services, and a dedicated facial room.
Today, Rouge Cosmetics is celebrated for its comprehensive range of services, including professional makeup applications, hair styling, bridal services, and specialized spa with a curated wardrobe of facial treatments. The boutique also offers a carefully selected collection of high-quality beauty and skincare products, including their own line of cruelty-free, clean cosmetics named Valencia. With a team of talented and experienced professionals, Rouge Cosmetics continues to be a go-to spot in Salem, committed to providing exceptional customer service and helping clients discover their unique beauty story.
